Romell’s company Appsell began with creating mobile applications that matched with his own personal skills and interests. Now, Appsell creates apps for a variety of small businesses, large organizations, public figures and events. Peterborough & the Kawarthas has been a great places for Romell and his growing business, he explains that with its established infrastructure, entrepreneurs produce big city results while having the feel of a small town.The B.L.A.S.T. Pilot Program has been a valuable resource for growing Appsell, allowing Romell to actualize his business with the training, guidance and support offered through the program. The microgrant will allow Romell to get his company off the ground by funding his startup expenses. He hopes to continue to grow by helping other small businesses increase their sales through the benefits of business apps.
We asked Romell, what advice would you offer other aspiring entrepreneurs? He answered: “If you have an idea, test it small first, get feedback and go from there. [You] never know where it will lead until you take the first step.”
