15 New Peterborough Youth Businesses

Today Peterborough Economic Development announced the creation of 15 new Peterborough Youth Businesses. We celebrated our 13th year administrating the Summer Company Program by hosting a media day for the young entrepreneurs at the Silver Bean Cafe.

Summer Company is a youth program offered by the Ontario government which provides students aged 15 to 29 with the opportunity to open and operate their own summer business. Participants are provided with funding, business training, and mentorship.

Over the past 13 years, Peterborough Economic Development has assisted over 130 young entrepreneurs with their businesses. In total, the 2014 Summer Company Program has launched 940 businesses across Ontario.
