Faces By 2: B.L.A.S.T. Top 16 in 2016 Success Story
For Rosie Salcido, starting her own business was a step outside of her comfort zone, however it made the most sense for her and her growing family.
Together with her business partner Evangelina Rodriguez, she opened Faces by 2 Professional Makeup Artistry. This company offers innovative makeup solutions using revolutionary techniques for any occasion. They specialize in airbrush makeup for weddings, eyelash extensions and face and body art.
As a New Canadian, Rosie found the support given by the local business community to be an integral part of her success in getting her business off the ground. Through the B.L.A.S.T. Pilot Program, Rosie was able to think of her business in a whole new way. With the help from the program’s microgrant she will look to expand her inventory, online presence (with an online shopping platform and website) as well as the creation of marketing materials.
She encourages other entrepreneurs to chase their dreams and keep working toward their goals stating that “with patience anything is possible”. Faces By 2 will focus on the promotion of their newly opened makeup studio and boutique located in downtown Peterborough.
We asked Rosie how she defines “success”. She answered: “Success for me is having a balanced life, earning an income and helping others doing what you love and being recognized for your talent.” she also mentions that it is important to have “time to enjoy your family, your friends and life.”
