Join Peterborough & the Kawarthas Economic Development (PKED) as we host our Annual General Meeting. We are welcoming the community to learn more about our role in the community, a 2018 year in review, and a look forward at the exciting year ahead.

The event will feature an opportunity to:

  • Meet our team and learn about the programs and services we offer
  • Get acquainted with PKED’s Board of Directors and Advisory Committee members
  • Pick up resources and reports in the Business Advisory Centre
  • Learn about projects, events and opportunities that are on the horizon

This year’s Annual General Meeting will feature a Keynote Address from economic development industry thought leader, Eric Canada on the topic of “Economic Development: A Team Sport”.

Including reports, election/reappointment of board members,  2018 Year in Review, Volunteer & Board Member recognition.

11am: Keynote Address from Eric Canada, “Economic Development: A Team Sport”

The current economic landscape is constantly evolving. Change can be challenging, but also full of opportunities – that is why now, more than ever, it is important to approach economic development as a team. Eric Canada will present a straight-forward 3-part model for community economic development comprised of The Client, The Tribe and The Edge. In the presentation, you will learn the process used successfully in economic development to establish and maintain strong principles and strategies to build a prosperous and vibrant economy.

Eric Canada Bio

Eric Canada is author of the new book Economic Development for the Team, Eric has consistently created unique intellectual property for the economic development community. He has generated market gravity and is often cited as an industry expert. These are hallmarks of a persistent thought leader. Canada is an innovator in organizational dynamics, marketing as well as business retention and expansion (BR|E). A veteran of local, regional, and statewide chamber and economic development positions, he began his consulting career in 1994.
