Trevor Smith is being is own boss this summer as he prepares to venture on the post-secondary study. Through entrepreneurship, Trevor will gain some experience in business as well as saving some money to put towards his costs as a student.
Trevor’s business, Student Shredders is a student-owned and operated business that destroys confidential, unwanted documents in a secure and timely manner. Shredding services are offered either on-site at your business or at a private off-site location. This business is also eco-friendly as they recycle all of the shredded paper.
Through our Summer Company program, Trevor found answers to his questions and new ideas in order to finesse his business plan. “Without the experienced and supportive staff at the Business Advisory Centre, I would not have been able to see the success that I see in my business today.” explains Trevor of his experience.
What’s next for Trevor? He is focused on adjusting his business to always point in the right direction, allowing his business to grow through both new and repeat customers.
We asked Trevor what his definition of success is, he answered: “Success is achieving your goals; whatever they may be – big or small. One of my goals is to run a helpful, profitable business. When I achieve this, I will achieve success.”
