How We Can Help

A Strong Destination Marketing Organization

Peterborough & the Kawarthas Tourism, a division of Peterborough Economic Development is the official Destination Marketing Organization for the Peterborough Region.

Peterborough & the Kawarthas Tourism provide industry leadership and destination marketing services to attract visitors to the region. We are a not-for-profit, partnership-based organization with more than 400 tourism business partners. Working alongside our stakeholders we strive to deliver exceptional experiences by cultivating a brand that results in increased visitation and return visits, increased spending and overnight stays and rave reviews and recommendations. To accomplish these goals we focus on brand-aligned destination marketing and tourism development. We achieve this through external marketing and travel media relations, experience development and visitor services.

We are also responsible for other key tourism sectors such as Meetings, Conferences, Incentive Travel, Group Travel and Travel Trade.

Business Directory

Peterborough & the Kawarthas promotes all tourism businesses in the region, and has approximately 400+ registered tourism partners who are profiled on the tourism website site, www.thekawarthas.ca and in an annual directory publication.

We offer a variety of supporting services which are accessible to our stakeholders, and deliver exceptional visitor services through the operation of the area’s regional visitor centre and 1-800 number.

Leveraging Regional and Provincial Tourism Opportunities

Peterborough & the Kawarthas makes up half of the Kawarthas Northumberland Tourism Region (RTO8) which is one of thirteen tourism regions recognized by the Government of Ontario, and strategically aligns our efforts with those of our Regional Tourism Organization as well as Ontario Tourism to maximize our investment in the sector.
