Peterborough & the Kawarthas Economic Development has released a Business Retention & Expansion Report, as a result of a project that engaged our local business community in November 2017.

Working with economic development data consultant, MDB Insight, Peterborough & the Kawarthas Economic Development led a Business Retention & Expansion (BR&E) Triage Project in November 2017. A telephone survey was conducted targeting local businesses in the City and County of Peterborough to identify needs and opportunities for growth within our communities. This report shares the project’s findings and action items.

Focusing on businesses that are already here allows us to promote job growth, create action-oriented strategies to support our local economy, and prioritize projects based on what is important to the existing business community.

Our findings identify three key themes: 1) Talent & Workforce, 2) Red Tape and 3) Infrastructure as priorities for local businesses. This report will be used to guide the future BR&E activity for Peterborough & the Kawarthas Economic Development, with both short and long-term deliverables.
