Peterborough & the Kawarthas Economic Development Announces Business Retention & Expansion Project

By Kelly Jessup

Peterborough & the Kawarthas Economic Development has launched a project that aims to assist existing local businesses in becoming more competitive while continuing to grow and thrive in the region.

We are eager to launch this business retention & expansion project that will support local companies with opportunities and challenges they are encountering and create a more business-friendly community.” said Suzanne McCrimmon, Director of Business Development with Peterborough & the Kawarthas Economic Development. “The information from this project will be used to plan future economic development activities.”

A telephone survey will be launched on Thursday, November 9th, where business owners and managers will be contacted and asked to participate. The survey will be used to identify business needs and opportunities. The focus of the project is on assisting local businesses, as vital players in the region’s prosperity and long-term economic sustainability.

Peterborough & the Kawarthas Economic Development will review the findings and take steps to enhance the local business environment and communicate with respondents about opportunities or challenges they are facing. Results will be shared with the community early in 2018.
