In Peterborough & the Kawarthas we are lucky to have access to amazing local food and beverage throughout the year at a variety of farmgates, restaurants, and of course at the Peterborough Farmers’ Market – a place where producers throughout the region have brought their products to market.
Now that it is the beginning of May, opportunities to buy food and other goods at the Farmers’ Markets in the fresh open air are back for another year. Today, the Peterborough Downtown Farmers’ Market opens for the season. This weekend the Peterborough Farmers’ Market moves outside for the season. In the coming weeks, markets will be opening like spring flowers throughout the region as we give summer a warm welcome.

Open Saturdays (May to October) 9am to 2pm.
The Market which is run by local artists is located behind Hunter’s General Store in Apsley, and is home to award-winning meats and dairy products.
Every Tuesday from 8:30am to 1pm.
Located at the Buckhorn Community Centre the Market runs seasonally, June 21st to August 30th. You can find everything from Jewellery to Fishing Lures, Linens, Pottery, Popcorn, Locally Roasted Coffee, Clothing, Twig Baskets, Wild Rice, Ethnic Foods and much more!
Havelock Farmers’ Market
The Havelock Farmers Market opens the weekend after Mother’s Day and runs every Saturday from 8:30am – 1:30pm through to Thanksgiving Weekend.
Open Fridays of every long weekend (May to October) 12-4pm. Keene Library – 3252 County Rd 2.
The Keene Farmers Market was created by a group of local farmers who wanted to provide a place for their neighbours in Otonabee-South Monaghan to purchase local foods.
The market brings together local farmers who produce food from the surrounding area, a wealth of talented artisans who showcase the creativity of Lakefield, and a variety of interesting prepared food vendors who used locally grown produce in the delicacies they serve.
Open the last Sunday of the month (April to Oct0ber) 10am – 1:30pm.
Parking lot of the Old Millbrook School, 1 Dufferin St., Millbrook. A collection of local vendors selling everything from fruits and vegetables, to preserves and perennials.
Open Saturdays, all year, from 7am to 1pm.
Memorial Centre parking lot (Peterborough, Ontario). The Market invites you to listen to the sounds of Peterborough’s local musicians while visiting their 100+ vendor strong outdoor market May 1 to October 31, rain or shine in the Morrow Building parking lot. From November 1 to April 30, they are located inside the Morrow Building just south of the parking lot.
Open Wednesdays (May to October) 8:30am to 2pm
Louis St.Parking Lot – just East of the Charlotte & Aylmer St. intersection (Peterborough, Ontario). As a producers only market, shoppers can be sure that they are purchasing directly from the farmers, bakers, and producers themselves. Not only do shoppers help support the local economy, they can also be assured they are buying the freshest seasonal products available in the region.
