Boundary Bounty: A Summer Company Story

Looking for fresh produce while driving through the Township of Asphodel-Norwood? Alexa Vanderhorst and Boundary Bounty have you covered. Currently Alexa is hard at work seeding and watering, and is looking forward to having a variety of vegetables available at her road side stand located  at the intersection of county Rd.40 and the Asphodel Norwood and Douro Dummer boundary., starting in August.

Boundary Bounty will offer:

  • Sweet corn
  • pumpkins
  • zucchini
  • cucumbers
  • peppers
  • tomatoes
  • potatoes
  • straw bales

Inspired by friends who completed the Summer Company Program, Alexa decided she would spend her summer farming a variety of crops to provide to both locals, and visitors to the area. Alexa credits Peterborough Economic Development with helping her with various aspects of the business – including finances and advertising. The Summer Company funding has allowed her to build her vegetable stand and buy the necessary tools for her farm.

For Alexa, success this summer means making her customers happy with the food she’s provided as well as running her business effectively, and meeting her financial goals.
