We are proud to be a host organization for Bears’ Lair once again this year, and we were there as Bears’ Lair got off to a roaring start on Wednesday morning. This year’s Bears’ Lair Entrepreneurial Competition launched earlier than in past years. Why? In order to give entrepreneurs more opportunity to access support as they assemble their application.
Along with our fellow community host organizations (Peterborough Angels Resource Network, Greater Peterborough Chamber of Commerce, Startup Peterborough, Greater Peterborough Innovation Cluster and Peterborough Community Futures Development Corporation) we will be providing mentorship, bootcamps and pitch exercises for all who enter the competition.
So why should you enter?
- Exposure: If you’re starting a new business building awareness of your brand, product and service is always front of mind, as a finalist or winner of Bears’ Lair, your business will be the talk of the town.
- Support: As mentioned above, the community host organizations will be providing support to all applicants. This includes weekly workshops from January 28th – March 3rd at Peterborough Economic Development’s office. You will also be getting support from past winners – who can share their secrets to success.
- Prizes: This one is kind of obvious, but there are prizes to be won! In fact, over $100,000 in cash and services will be awarded at the Bears’ Lair Finals.
- New Awards: This year is the first year that there will be People’s Choice Awards at the Competition (presented by Startup Peterborough)
